How do you achieve your distortion? I get mine by turning up my guitar’s volume knob! In this etude, I’ll demonstrate how you can use your volume knob to shape your sound.
To add extra 'heaviness,' I’ve used Drop D tuning (DADGBE), which involves tuning the lowest E string down to a D note while keeping the rest in standard tuning. The tonality is D minor with a focus on the b6 note (Bb), and it occasionally incorporates elements of D harmonic minor.
